perseverance

The #ArchieStrong character trait for April is PERSEVERANCE.

Dear Families,

This month's character trait is perseverance. As we approach the end of the school year, it's more important than ever to stay determined and keep pushing forward.

What is perseverance?

The Webster Dictionary describes perseverance as not giving up. It is persistence and tenacity, the effort required to do something and keep doing it till the end, even if it's hard. In simple words, it is the ability to keep doing something even when it is hard, no matter how long it may take to reach the goal.

It is the continual effort in working towards something. These last 30 or so days of school, students and staff keep working hard and trying until that last day! We have state testing coming up, which will show us our effort throughout the year, and as we continue to push to the very end of the 2024-2025 school year!

Ways to Help Students Learn Perseverance:

  1. Praise effort

  2. Model perseverance

  3. Challenge students

  4. Give kids opportunities to help others

  5. Set realistic goals

  6. Write positive affirmations

  7. Give encouragement

  8. Perseverance helps students manage their emotions

Thank you for partnering with us to foster this character trait in your child.

Warmly,

Mrs.Johnston, Archie School Counselor
