March Family News

Look here for important events and exciting things happening at our school!

Short Message from Mrs. Stroud

Dear Whirlwind Families,

We are kicking off the final quarter of the school year! The upcoming months are packed with important events. Be sure to check out this month's events below. You can also find District events in the EVENTS tab on the website or our app.

Mother Nature was our friend a few weeks ago, bringing us warm weather. It quickly reverted to chilly temperatures. Thank you for making sure your child leaves the house dressed in layers and with a jacket this next month. It certainly makes recess go a little smoother!

Enjoy Spring Break with your families! Hopefully, everyone comes back ready to conquer the end of the year!

Spelling Bee

Archie Elementary had a spelling bee for grades 3rd-6th. We are proud of the contestants. Abigail Forgette got 1st place and will advance to the Cass County Bee. 2nd place went to Elaina Donham. 3rd place went to Marlee Walker. Good luck to Abigail on March 13th!

Cup stackers

Archie hosted the annual cup stacking competition for the WEMO conference. Kindergarten to 6th grade students practiced in class, and the fastest students advanced to this competition. Congratulations to our competitors!

Look at all of those basketball players! Over 100 of our elementary Whirlwinds participated in Little League Basketball this year! It was great to have them at a varsity game on February 12th! Thank you to the coaches who dedicate their time to this league. A shout-out to the parents and fans that supported them throughout the season as well!

We Need Your Help!

The Archie R-V School District strives to support families as early as prenatal care. Our Parents as Teachers program and preschool are two ways to connect before kindergarten. We are considering restructuring our early childhood programs depending on the needs of our families. Responses from this survey may allow the district to provide preschool at no cost. Please take a moment to fill out the survey if you have a child birth to 5 years old by March 18th. Scan the QR code or go the this link: https://forms.gle/u7ToYkLbnAxKXehv9 We ask that you share this with friends or family in our district if they do not currently have elementary students but do have children under the age of 5.

Preschool Enrollment Night is Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:30 p.m. We hope to have wonderful information by that date!

PTO Update

dance

The PTO had a successful month! The annual dance was held on February 3rd. It was a blast for those who made it out!

Phase 1 of the playground project is nearly complete. A new swing set with more swings was installed. The students love it. Playground balls, soccer goals and equipment repairs have been made. Thank you for continuing to support fundraisers to go towards this 3-phase project! The PTO is accepting direct donations to go towards the BIG piece of equipment! https://my.cheddarup.com/c/playground-donations-44659?cart=32e395b4-acf7-4c35-b6d9-2cc462bab634%21%2173826057&displayMode=GRID

We appreciate all the PTO does for our students!
