Attendance Reminders-

  • Absences are considered unexcused unless the parent calls the school to verify.

  • Unexcused and excused absences are both added to the total for missed instructional time.

  • Doctor's notes can be sent to the Front Office via Rooms, dropped off in the office, or sent in your child's backpack.

  • We want to keep everyone as healthy as can be. Please keep your child at home until they are fever and symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school.

  • Our student handbook outlines the procedures the school abides by regarding absences. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Two additional Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) packets are in your student's backpacks/folders. These should stay in student folders until we need them. Should we use an AMI day, teachers will send instructions for the day via Thrillshare. Students are considered present when the completed packets are returned to school. If your child is struggling to complete an assignment, please contact the teacher to discuss solutions.

Here is a reminder of the information shared on our 2024-2025 Archie R-V Calendar regarding inclement weather and AMI days.

Inclement weather days or school closure days will be made up on 1/13, 2/10, 3/3, 3/31, 4/28, and 5/5.

Alternative Method of Instruction(AMI virtual) days will be used at the discretion of administration. AMI days may be used earlier in the event of an extended closure.

Should you have any questions, please contact Mrs.Stroud @ 816-293-5312.

respect

The #ArchieStrong character trait for February is RESPECT.

Dear Families,

This month's character trait is respect. We will be reinforcing that showing respect means behaving in a way that shows you care - about others, yourself, property, or the earth. Ways to show respect range from using manners and kind words to eating foods healthy for your body. Take care of things belonging to you and others and make good choices to take care of the environment.

It is really important that children respect themselves, understand their worth, and know they deserve positive treatment from others. If they don't, they will attract the wrong type of friends for themselves and will be treated in a way that they don't desire or deserve.

Three general ways to guide respect that we talk about in Character Education:

Show respect to yourself.

Show respect to others.

Show respect to property.

Here are some examples of how to show respect to others:

  • Be a good listener.

  • Understand someone's point of view.

  • Express your needs and wants in a direct, calm and respectful way.

  • Respond in a timely manner if someone requests something.

  • Acknowledge what others do well.

  • Let people know you appreciate them.

Thank you for your continued support in making our school a positive and nurturing place for all. #ArchieStrong
