Dear Whirlwind Families-
I hope this newsletter finds you well! What do you appreciate about this summer the most? Little league games, time at the lake, swimming at the pool, late nights with family & friends, sleeping in, showing animals at the fair, vacations or staycations? I hope you take a moment to visit with your family to see what they enjoyed. My husband and I took a trip to Tennessee in June. I appreciated the quiet, having no agenda, and time away together. I also had several opportunities to catch up with family and friends I rarely see during the school year. Big or small, it is important to take time to reflect on what fills your cup.
The summer staff has been busy! We have freshly waxed floors, many newly painted walls, and several large projects completed. The building is almost ready for students and staff! Thank you to Johnny, Patrick, Coach Smith, Penny, Roxanne, Donna, Sibert, Harmon, Dr.Wityk and McIntire for helping to ensure our building is safe and ready for students!
Many teachers, paraprofessionals and administrators have attended conferences, read books or participated in classes to promote their learning. New staff members attended orientation in June, worked in their new classrooms and attended professional development over the summer. I hope that all of them found opportunities to fill their cups over the summer too. Our staff wants to be the best they can be for your children.
Read this newsletter carefully to learn about the initiatives that have been chosen to improve and streamline communication to families.
Have a great rest of the summer!
