Hello Whirlwind families!
Thank you, elementary parents and guardians, for attending this year's parent-teacher conferences. We appreciate your participation and commitment to your child’s education. Our goal is to meet with 100% of our parents for conferences, and we are nearly there! We truly appreciate your partnership.
During conferences, Reading Success Plans were shared, and families made commitments to support learning at home—just another great example of how we’re in this together!
It’s hard to believe the first quarter is already over and we’re heading toward Thanksgiving. Ms. Bryson and Mr. Mills have begun preparations for the winter program, and Parents as Teachers has a few fun events planned for this month as well.
We also encourage our Whirlwind fans to keep cheering on our football team as they enter the playoff portion of their season. They’d love to see a big home crowd supporting them!
Finally, don’t forget to check out the important dates listed below. You can also stay up to date on upcoming activities—from early childhood to high school—by using the Events tab on the Archie App.

Character Trait of the Month: SERVICE |
Whirlwind families-
During November, Archie R-V will be focusing on service as the character trait. The meaning of the character word "service" centers around performing work, duties, and acts to help benefit others. This character trait focuses on being helpful without expecting anything in return.
Students can show service by helping each other complete tasks at school. Examples of service at school include school work, carrying items, and assisting teachers, among others.
Students can be helpful in the community by doing tasks to benefit others and being positive community members. Some examples for service in the community are visiting the elderly, helping pick up trash, and volunteering for community projects.
***November 4th-6th the 5th Grade Leadership Group is having a food drive for items to help with Thanksgiving dinners. All students in Archie will be able to participate! Extra items will be placed in the Whirlwind Food Pantry.
The grade level that collects the most items will have an ice cream party! In the Middle and High School, the advisement that collects the most items will have a pizza party!
In character education, we will learn about serving others and gratitude for and to others, and for the things we have! We challenge you and your family to find a time each day to share something you are thankful/grateful for during November.
Warm wishes-
Carolyn Johnston, PK-12th Grade Counselor

Left: We celebrated perfect attendance for 1st quarter at our monthly assembly. You Matter Archie passed out birthday treats, and the high school students passed out treats after lunch to the elementary students. Middle: Youth Volleyball was recognized at a home game. We had a variety of dress-up days for Red Ribbon Week, including hat day. Right: Students who sold enough Major Saver cards took a limo ride to Mazzio Pizza! You Matter Archie hosted a Granny Basketball game featuring many staff members on the celebrity team. Thanks to the Little League Cheerleaders for rooting for staff! |

The Lady Whirlwinds were district champions! Several of the Whirlwinds broke records this season. We will miss Abigail Sutton and Lizzy Thompson next season. The football team had a bye for their first postseason game. Support the Whirlwinds at home on November 7th as they work their way towards another district championship. Our Whirlwind Marching Band placed in several parades throughout the season! Congratulations to Mr. Mills and the band members! |

We ask that families take a moment to review the updated handbook. Notable additions include the state-mandated cell phone policy, updated dress code guidelines, lunch guidelines, and changes to staffing.
The 2025–2026 calendar and events tab will help you schedule doctors’ appointments, plan vacations, and organize childcare needs.
