Message from Mr. Schulte:

Winter has certainly shown its teeth over the past week, and I appreciate the patience, flexibility, and support shown by our students, families, and staff as we utilized AMI days to keep learning moving forward. Your cooperation during these weather conditions is valued.

As we look ahead, we are preparing for spring state testing, and I would like to emphasize the importance of regular student attendance. Consistent attendance plays an important role in student growth and achievement, especially as the third quarter midterm approaches on February 11th.

This month, we are also focusing on the character trait of Respect. We encourage our students to demonstrate respect through their actions, words, and attitudes toward peers, staff, and our school community. Building a culture of respect helps create a positive learning environment where everyone can feel safe and succeed.

We are excited to celebrate Courtwarming Week beginning the week of February 9th, with the high school dance scheduled for February 13th. These events provide wonderful opportunities for our students to connect, celebrate school spirit, and build lasting memories.

Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to the success of our students and school!

Mr. Schulte

$$$ for Life After High School

SENIORS!

If you’re planning to attend college, trade school, or any postsecondary program after graduation, you’ll definitely want to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Filling out the FAFSA opens the door to grants, scholarships, work-study, and low-interest loans that can make college much more affordable. Even if you think you might not qualify for much aid, many schools and scholarship programs still require the FAFSA to be on file before awarding funds. The earlier you apply, the better your chances for the best aid packages.  You can start your application at https://studentaid.gov.

If you haven’t already, please check out state financial aid, scholarships and grants from the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD). February 2nd is the priority deadline for state aid.

Counselor's Corner by Mrs. Johnston

The character word for February is Respect is like the Golden Rule. Treat others the way you want to be treated and to value others for who they are. Respect involves using good manners, listening, accepting differences, and following rules to make everyone feel safe and valued.

Ways students can show respect:

Actions: Using kind words, sharing, taking turns, and apologizing when wrong.

Attitude:  Being kind, considerate of others' feelings and recognizing differences in others.

Listening: Paying attention when others speak. Using eye contact and not interrupting.

Property: Caring for their own personal items, other's things, and the school/community.

Self-Respect: Recognizing one's own worth and doing one's best.

February is known for love and respect. February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day.

⇒Update: The City of Archie has recently enforced a one-way traffic pattern on N. Iowa. Due to this change, staff members coming from west of town will enter through the front student parking lot to help limit traffic near our crosswalks.

To support a safe and smooth arrival, please plan to arrive at 7:40 a.m., when students are able to enter the building, or avoid blocking parking spaces around the dome and ag building.

Thank you for your patience and for helping make this transition safe and successful for everyone.
